Mountain views, wildlife sightings, and the sweetest celebration of love. Abby and Drew had an intimate Colorado wedding at Piney River Ranch. Where the air smells like pine. The peaks are impossibly rugged. And the lake? Pure magic. It’s one of those places that feels like a secret—despite being just 45 minutes from Vail.
This intimate Colorado wedding was everything I love about mountain celebrations: simple, intentional, and deeply connected to nature. With just their closest loved ones gathered lakeside, this couple created a day that felt as wild and free as the place they chose to say “I do.”
A Morning of Calm & Connection
The day started slow. The couple got ready together in their luxury canvas tent, accompanied by their adorable dogs. You could feel the calm—no rush, no stress, just a quiet excitement and deep gratitude. Before guests arrived, they took a few moments alone together, walking along the lake trail before their guests arrived.

A Ceremony with a View
The ceremony took place right on the edge of Piney Lake, framed by the dramatic mountain peaks. Their vows were heartfelt and personal, spoken softly with misty eyes, steady hands and lots of laughs. It was short and sweet and perfect from every angle.
An Intimate Celebration
After the ceremony, the couple took a canoe out on the lake—a quiet moment to soak it all in. The water was glassy, and the light was warm and golden. Meanwhile, guests gathered for apps, drinks and games.
Dinner was served inside the cozy lodge, with long tables full of good food, heartfelt toasts, and the kind of laughter that comes from years of deep friendship. As night fell, the stars came out and the campfire crackled—ending the day with music and dancing under the starlight.
