Chris + Allie’s Vermont engagement session was filled with meaningful locations, scenic views, and playful outdoor energy. We chose to meet in a spot close to their hearts – Warren, VT. They got engaged at nearby Sugarbush Resort, and would be tying the knot just around the corner at the Inn at the Round Barn Farm.
Our time together started playing in an open field and winding dirt road. The air was brisk and the sun was shy. But they snuggled up and kept each other warm, embracing the wild, joyful energy of being outside together. Next up, Warren Falls for a little riverside adventure. Chris + Allie remained fully in the moment – full of laughter, love, and plenty of movement to keep warm.

Why Book an Engagement Session in Vermont?
An engagement session is about so much more than just getting pretty photos for your save-the-dates (though you’ll definitely get those too). It’s a chance to:
- Celebrate this chapter of your relationship without the pressure of a wedding timeline.
- Get comfortable in front of the camera, especially if you’re nervous about photos.
- Spend intentional time together in a beautiful place that reflects your story.
- Have fun! Think of it like a mini date where you just happen to have someone there documenting all the magic.
Structuring Your VT Outdoor Engagement Session
Outdoor engagement sessions are naturally more relaxed and spontaneous—but a little structure helps make the most of your time together. Here’s how I typically pull it all together:
- Start with a location that matters to you—maybe where you got engaged, had your first hike, or spend summer weekends.
- Loosen up with movement—walks down a dirt road, dancing in a field, or cozying up on a blanket help create natural moments.
- Add in a bit of adventure—like exploring a waterfall, swimming hole, or mountaintop view.
- Time it around golden hour—that dreamy light right after sunrise or before sunset adds warmth and glow to every shot.
